Plot summary
A call from Las Vegas reaches Los Angeles, where Vince Boudreau and Cesar Dominguez, aging prizefighters and longtime best friends, have always wished for a final chance in the ring. Boxing promoter Joe Domino needs replacement fighters on short notice for an undercard, a preliminary to a heavyweight main event, and both men are available. Domino decides they should box each other. They agree that whoever wins will get a chance at the middleweight championship. With only a day to reach Las Vegas, they choose to drive and ask Grace Pasic to take them. Grace intends to pitch her business ideas to casino figures such as Hank Goody.
