Plot summary
Two-year-old Pihu wakes on the morning after her second birthday and cannot wake her mother, Puja. Her father, Gaurav, is away in Kolkata for a conference. He calls the flat, and Pihu picks up, but he cannot understand her and asks for Puja. He tells her to switch off an iron he left on, because she might touch it. Pihu burns her fingers. Hungry, she tries to make food for herself, burning rotis on the stove and in the microwave.

- Director Vinod Kapri shot the film for only two hours a day with three cameras because, as he put it, "you can't ask a two-year-old to give another take," and he reworked parts of the script around Myra Vishwakarma's behaviour.
- Shooting began after Kapri's friend Kishen Kumar came on board as producer, but Kumar suffered a cardiac arrest and Kapri had to seek new help for the film's post-production budget.
- Myra Vishwakarma, the two-year-old in the title role, had never acted before; director Vinod Kapri, a close friend of her parents, got them to agree to let her act in the film.
- Vinod Kapri based the film on a 2014 real-life incident he read in a national daily: a four-year-old boy in Delhi was left alone at home with his dead mother.
- Before filming, director Vinod Kapri spent four months with the child actor, getting to know her and introducing her to the rest of the crew.
