Plot summary

Naina Jaiswal teaches at a play school in Colaba, Mumbai, and returns early from three weeks of leave. She sets the children in front of a cartoon, then calls the police station to report that sixteen of them are her hostages. A driver delivering a birthday cake and Savitri, the helper, who comes back for her phone, are held as well. Officers treat the call as a hoax until Naina fires into the air. ACP Catherine Alvarez makes contact, but Naina will speak only with officer Javed Khan. She offers to free one child for every demand met, opening with a transfer of five crore rupees to her account, and also asks for Prime Minister Maya Rajguru, along with Rakesh Mathur and Charan Kumar.
