Plot summary
Three women live together in a Faridabad flat: Minal Arora, Falak Ali and Andrea. After a night out in Delhi, Rajveer Singh is treated at a hospital for a head wound, and the three women come home shaken. Rajveer's side carries money and political weight: his uncle Ranjit is a powerful politician from South Delhi. Ankit Malhotra pressures the women's landlord and posts explicit material about them online, and Falak loses her job over it. A police officer discourages them from filing a complaint, saying it would only make their daily lives worse. Minal files one anyway. Deepak, an elderly neighbor who notices her morning runs, tells them he is a retired lawyer and offers to help.

- During filming, Amitabh Bachchan walked the streets of New Delhi in a costume the public could not recognise him in; the idea of wearing the mask came from Bachchan himself because Delhi is very polluted, while director Shoojit Sircar created the look.
- Taapsee Pannu often broke down on the shooting sets because she found her character very strong and challenging. She caught a viral infection during the court scenes and wanted to dub later, but Shoojit Sircar felt her illness would add more authenticity to those scenes.
- Pink's original climax, in which Rajvir and his friends won the case, was rewritten so that it would not hurt the sentiments of the audience.
- Pink was specially screened for the Rajasthan Police to train them to be sensitive and sensible about women's rights and dignity, was screened at Rashtrapati Bhavan, and was invited for a screening at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.
