Pignorant (2024) on Netflix

Plot summary

For three years, Joey, a former gang member who now campaigns for animals, works undercover with other activists inside the United Kingdom's pork industry. The country presents itself as holding some of the strongest welfare standards anywhere, so the group sets out to see what life is actually like for farmed pigs there. Its aim is to document the cruelty and the corruption the activists say are built into the trade, and much of their investigation concerns CO2 gas chambers, a long-hidden method used across the worldwide pork business. The work carries risk, and Joey's attachment to pigs is what keeps him in it.
