Perez. (2014) on Netflix

Plot summary

Demetrio Perez was once one of the most respected criminal lawyers in Naples. After making too many enemies he has been pushed down to the role of public defender, working inside a system he knows is corrupt while trying to do right by his family. His daughter has fallen in love with Francesco Corvino, whose father runs a Camorra clan, and it was that same man who paid off Perez's superior to have him demoted. Luca Buglione, who heads a rival clan, has decided to turn state's evidence. He puts a proposal to Perez: bring back a consignment of smuggled diamonds, and Buglione will give testimony against Francesco.
