Plot summary
Clonus is an isolated desert compound in which clones are raised to supply organs to the elite. The elite includes Jeffrey Knight, soon to be president-elect. Workers keep the clones apart from the real world. The clones complete physical training in the hope of being accepted and sent to America. Clones wearing orange ear tags have been lobotomized and are childlike and docile. Richard, whose silver tag marks a normal intellect, questions his existence.

- In 2005 the makers of Clonus sued DreamWorks Pictures for copyright infringement, citing similarities between their film and Michael Bay's The Island, which also concerns a colony breeding clones to harvest organs; the two sides settled for a sealed seven-figure sum.
- Instead of paying for everything, the production handed on-screen credit to people who supplied the crew with dinner, tennis shoes and bicycles.
- The production rented the town of Simi Valley, California, for the shoot in exchange for a donation to the Junior Chamber of Commerce.
