Plot summary
Bernardo, Giovanna and Ivana Cannistraci are siblings in Florence who have not spoken to one another for years, and each of them is estranged from their father, the university professor Arnaldo Cannistraci. The rift dates from the death of their mother. When Arnaldo suddenly falls ill and is taken to hospital, the three understand how little time remains to repair what was lost. For years Arnaldo has spoken of a journey to Paris with all of them, but his health rules out any real travel. The siblings therefore arrange a camper trip toward the French capital, one that stays on Bernardo's ranch the whole time, and they work to convince Arnaldo that Italy and France are passing by outside.
