Plot summary
It is May 1968. Jean-Philippe Duroc works as a lawyer and has taken on the case of Martial Gaulard, who faces a death sentence for a murder he did not commit. Gaulard is a fascist and has no sympathy for the student riots of that spring. Duroc arrives at the prison to meet him. A mutiny breaks out among the inmates, and Gaulard takes the chance it offers, pulls on the lawyer's clothes and gets away. The police treat Duroc as an accomplice and look for both men across France.
