Plot summary
The valley where Fausto Ande lives has been eaten away by industrial towns, and nothing shows on his face as he stands at his machine in the factory. Ivan Pescatore asks him whether a person can think of nothing at all, and Fausto finds that a dark thought has crept into him, one that goes past ordinary human limits. That violent thought is where the encounter between the two men begins. Ivan is a stranger from the internet, and Fausto invites him to town for a mysterious deal the two arranged there. Neither man sees a way out of the routine he lives in.
