Plot summary
Fifteen years after her mother was murdered in London, Olivia is unhappily married to the domineering Richard, who forbids her to work. As a child she saw a client kill her mother and throw the body into the Thames from London Bridge, and she is still haunted by the memory and by her mother's voice, which guides her decisions. With Richard away one night, Olivia puts on provocative clothes and walks the streets, and a client takes her home. Michael, an American engineer visiting London to restore the bridge, meets her beneath it and invites her to his hotel, where the two begin an affair.

- Olivia began as an intended sequel to The Boogeyman: Ulli Lommel, Suzanna Love and John P. Marsh were scouting locations in Mexico when they reached Lake Havasu City, Arizona, home of the 17th-century London Bridge shipped over from England. Fascinated by the bridge, Lommel asked Marsh to write a screenplay built around it.
- Most of Olivia's interiors were shot in Los Angeles, many of them inside director Ulli Lommel's own home, and the film's London flat was doubled by a Los Angeles apartment the crew rented for one day.
- Co-writer and assistant director John P. Marsh said many sequences, largely the interiors, were finished after filming had officially wrapped because the production kept running out of money.
