Oh Mercy (2019) on Netflix

Plot summary

Yacoub Daoud is the police chief of Roubaix, a working-class town near the Belgian border whose industry has gone. On Christmas Eve he is on duty with Louis, a new recruit, when an elderly woman is murdered and her two young neighbors, Claude and Marie, are arrested. He spends the holiday night on the town's streets. The women seem frightened and unwilling to talk, and Daoud, who is known for getting at the truth, senses they are hiding what they know. An arson attack with no witnesses and no camera footage also demands answers, and the case sits in a neighborhood where crime is common.
