Plot summary
Anya has looked after her brother Aslan since their parents died, cleaning houses in London and studying nursing while he tries to earn a living as a mixed martial arts fighter. Short of money, Aslan agrees to lose a fight arranged by a businessman, Julian, then wins it instead and owes him a large sum. When Julian's bodyguard attacks Aslan, Anya fights him off, and a promoter named Mariah, watching, offers her a way to clear the debt through prize fights. Anya proves she can fight and is taken to Rome for a match, but the bout is at a secluded villa far from the city, where imprisoned women are made to fight for spectators who bet on them.
