Plot summary
John is a professional cave diver. He does not return from an expedition in an underwater cave, and his wife Merel is left with their two young children, Boris and Ronja, in a house still full of his belongings. Because his body is never recovered, there is no funeral and no goodbye. Merel keeps the loss at arm's length and avoids everything that reminds her of it. Boris and Ronja want to know what happened to their father and they go looking for answers on their own. The children's questions and their mother's silence pull the family in different directions.
