Plot summary
The yearbook for Canterlot High School is being put together by Sunset Shimmer, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle. Trixie Lulamoon arrives at the office and demands a title, The Greatest and Powerfullest, which Sunset says is not a real category. The next day at the beach, Sunset finds that her friends' memories of her are gone: they recall only the times she bullied them, and Twilight remembers only a moment from the Friendship Games when Sunset yelled at her. Unable to convince them that they are friends, Sunset writes to Twilight Sparkle in Ponyville, who does remember her. The two meet in Equestria, where Sunset explains what has happened. They travel to Canterlot to consult Princess Celestia and search the castle library, where magic is the suspected cause of the memory loss.
