My Best Fiend (1999) on Netflix

Plot summary

Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinski shared an apartment, and in a rage that lasted forty-eight hours Kinski destroyed the bathroom. Herzog had first watched him on screen as a teenager in the 1950s, and their partnership was marked by heated and sometimes violent quarrels. In 1972 Herzog gave Kinski a part in Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes, and four more films followed. Herzog travels back to the countries where they shot and speaks with people who worked alongside them. Two actresses who appeared opposite Kinski recall a calmer side to him, and Herzog meets a photographer who has exhibited pictures of the two men. Early footage shows Kinski performing as Jesus and shouting at an audience that will not pay attention.
