Plot summary
A former governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney sets out in 2006 to win the presidency. The cameras travel with him through the Republican primaries, where John McCain and other candidates stand in his way, and remain with him for a second attempt in 2012, when Barack Obama holds the office. Ann Romney is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis during those years, and her husband speaks of his worry about letting down his family and the people who back him. Romney was at first uneasy about being followed, while Ann favored the idea. The project began as a film about the 2008 election and ended up spanning six years.
