Misty – The Erroll Garner Story (2024) on Netflix

Plot summary

Erroll Garner grew up in the ghettos of Pittsburgh and taught himself the piano. His peers considered him a genius, and his talent brought him to the largest international stages. He is said to have composed Misty between two concerts on an aeroplane; it became a jazz standard and remains one of the most covered ballads. A tremendously successful career came with a complex private life. People who knew him appear: two bass players, a drummer, his manager, a journalist, his biographer, his daughter, a friend and his last partner.
