Plot summary
The documentary tells the life and career of the opera singer Maria Callas in her own words. Her performances on stage, the interviews she gave for television, home movies and family photographs are used, along with the letters she wrote and the memoirs she never published. Almost none of this material had been shown to the public before. It follows a woman who rose from humble New York City beginnings to become an international star of opera and to rank among the greatest artists of all time.
