Plot summary
Professor Hong Sum Kwai teaches at a college, and nobody around him knows he is the Water Magician. One night he and his student Cheng Meisi are both struck by lightning, and his abilities pass into her. She uses them for personal gain, with her roommates helping her earn money from them. Professor Hong offers to teach her how to use what she now carries. Meanwhile Bi Yewu, the Fire Magician, hunts the elemental wizards, because he needs all five of them to open a rift in time and change a tragedy from his own past. Wood Magician Gu Xinyue and Earth Magician Ling Feng are among those he pursues.
