Plot summary

Jerry Webster works at the advertising agency Ramsey & Son, where he keeps clients happy with nightclubs, liquor and women. Carol Templeton, newly arrived from Omaha, works for the rival firm Bracket, McGalpin & Gaines and expects hard work to win her accounts. When J. Paxton Miller visits New York, Jerry takes him to a nightclub with strippers and wins the Cera Miller business that Carol had prepared for. Carol reports Jerry to the Ad Council, so he has the chorus girl Rebel Davis charm its members. In return he films her in commercials for VIP, a product that does not exist. Pete Ramsey, who inherited the firm, orders those spots broadcast, and Jerry pays the chemist Dr. Linus Tyler to invent something to sell.
