Plot summary
Lou lives in a small New Mexican town in 1989 and runs a gym there, keeping mostly to herself. She is close to her sister Beth, who is married to JJ, and to a friend named Daisy who flirts with her. FBI agents visit the gym to ask Lou what she knows about Lou Sr., the father she keeps away from, and his crimes. Jackie, a bodybuilder, is in town training, and Lou gives her steroids for her workouts. Jackie says no at first, then accepts. They move in together and fall in love while Jackie keeps raising her doses.
