Plot summary
Chris Lemons, Duncan Allcock and David Yuasa are working 100 meters down in the North Sea, supplied from the ship Bibby Topaz above them. The ship's system for holding its position fails, and in rough seas it drifts, pulling the divers away from their work area. The movement breaks the tether that carries Lemons his breathing gas, hot water for his suit, power for his light and his link to the bell and the surface. He is left on the seabed with only the gas in the emergency cylinders on his back, five minutes' worth, while more than half an hour must pass before anyone can reach him. The account is built from recordings made at the time on the divers' helmet cameras and voice communications, alongside interviews with those involved.

- Diver Chris Lemons had only five minutes of emergency breathing gas left after his umbilical was severed, but he survived for around 30 minutes, which he and his colleagues attributed in part to the cold water and the high oxygen partial pressure of his gas mix.
- The documentary uses real footage and audio recorded during the accident on the divers' voice communications equipment and helmet cameras, along with interviews and some reconstructed footage.
- The support vessel Bibby Topaz drifted in rough seas after its dynamic positioning system, supplied by Kongsberg Maritime, failed. The drifting vessel dragged the divers and snapped the umbilical tether that supplied Chris Lemons.
