Plot summary
Four people of different backgrounds end up in the same van, traveling across empty Spain: a driver, a religious Mexican woman, and a posh woman on the trip with her wayward teenage daughter. Driving down a country road at night, the van runs over a lone woman walking in the dark. The occupants lift her inside and drive her toward the closest hospital. She behaves strangely from the start, and the group agrees on one simple rule for the rest of the journey: nobody sits beside her. The occupants of the van come to understand that they have to fight for their lives.
