  • In March 2010 a rough cut of Kommissarie Späck was given a 15-year age limit by Sweden's film censorship board for its bloody scenes; producer Lukas Wojarski refused to accept it, and after re-edits the board lowered the limit to 11 in April.
  • Kommissarie Späck grew out of fake film trailers shown at the Guldbagge Awards in 2007 and 2008; the first was recorded in 2006 after the awards committee phoned Fredde Granberg asking for a comedy item so the gala would be "a bit more down-to-earth".
  • Johan Hedenberg plays Grünvald Karlsson, a parody of Mikael Persbrandt's Gunvald Larsson in the Beck films, and he did not dare accept the role until he had phoned Persbrandt to ask whether it was all right.
  • Kommissarie Späck, the Swedish police comedy directed by Fredde Granberg, is described as Sweden's first parody film in the police-film genre.
