Plot summary
In interviews, Daniella Carter, Dominique Silver, Koko Da Doll and Liyah Mitchell, four Black trans women in New York and Georgia, talk about their lives and their work in sex work. They speak of rejection by their families and of the violence they have met and expect. Black men are also interviewed. Staged re-enactments with actors replay episodes the women describe. The women were found through Instagram and YouTube. The talks were shot from low angles so that they would feel like conversations between friends at a sleepover, and the women were asked to speak as if they were talking to the filmmaker alone.

- D. Smith produced songs for Lil Wayne, Ciara, Keri Hilson, Billy Porter and André 3000 before transitioning, when she says she was essentially forced out of the music industry and ended up broke and homeless.
- D. Smith was still homeless when she began making the film: her camera was bought by a host at a place where she had once stayed, and her laptop by a producer.
- D. Smith recruited her subjects through Instagram and YouTube and shot them at lower angles so the interviews would look as if they were at a sleepover, telling them to talk as if they were talking to her.
