Plot summary
In 2018, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Amy Vilela of Nevada, Cori Bush of Missouri and Paula Jean Swearengin of West Virginia decide to run for Congress. Ocasio-Cortez tends bar in the Bronx; Vilela is a grieving mother; Bush is a registered nurse; Swearengin is a coal miner's daughter. Justice Democrats and Brand New Congress endorse all four. Each enters a Democratic primary against a long-time incumbent, with no political experience and no corporate money, and campaigns through grassroots organizing in her community. The four races take place in New York's 14th district, Nevada's 4th, Missouri's 1st and West Virginia's Senate race.
