Plot summary
Jada turns down her classmate Michael when he asks her to the homecoming dance; she thinks of him as a friend, and she has a boyfriend, the gangster Lorenzo, who has warned Michael to stay away from her. When Lorenzo comes to collect Jada with his friends T-Bone and Baby Boy, they catch Michael talking to her and beat him before driving off. From an alley, a homeless man watches in silence. That night Michael holds a knife and works black magic over a clown doll, ringed by candles, to call up a demon of vengeance called Killjoy, and nothing seems to come of it. Lorenzo and his friends abduct Michael outside his house, drive him to a secluded spot, and shoot him, leaving his body behind.

- Killjoy's title look was built from plastic prosthetics that took roughly four to five hours to apply to star Ángel Vargas's face, and the crew made touch-ups later in the filming day to keep the makeup continuous.
