Plot summary
Israelism examines how American Jewish institutions in the United States teach the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to young people. It follows Simone Zimmerman, co-founder of IfNotNow, and Eitan, a former Israel Defense Forces soldier, two American Jews raised to support Israel who learn about the treatment of Palestinians and revise their views. Among those interviewed are Noam Chomsky, Cornel West, Jeremy Ben-Ami, Sami Awad, and Abe Foxman, a former director of the Anti-Defamation League. The documentary is critical of how Israel treats Palestinians and of how the American Jewish community educates its young about the conflict. It argues that the narrative many American Jews are taught largely leaves Palestinians out.

- After the University of Pennsylvania refused to let a Jewish student group screen Israelism on November 28, 2023, the Penn chapter of the American Association of University Professors condemned the university; the screening went ahead with the Middle East Center's help, and the Center's director resigned that day over administrators' pressure to block the film.
- The Westdale, a community cinema and arts venue in Hamilton, Ontario, canceled a December 6 screening after its staff received about a dozen near-identical emails calling for the cancellation; the board reversed the decision on December 1, saying a review found no credible evidence the screening would cause harm.
- The cancellation of a November 14 screening at Hunter College was denounced by the college's student, faculty and staff senate, which demanded a rescheduled screening within the month, and by PEN America; a spokesperson announced the delayed screening would take place on December 5.
