Plot summary

The Montford Point Marines were Black men in the United States Marine Corps in the early twentieth century, an era of racial segregation in the military. Their story begins in rural Virginia. Their service took them into World War II, Korea and Vietnam. They confronted racial prejudice, and the wars brought heartbreak. Their commitment held. The documentary gathers their own accounts of that service and of the transition to civilian life.
