Plot summary
The novel coronavirus appears in Wuhan, and the people who were there through the first days of the outbreak describe what they lived through. The documentary sets their accounts beside the ways the Chinese and American governments met the initial spread, tracing the outbreak from Wuhan to its arrival across the United States. The project began as a short film about China's response. As the virus spread and as much of the information coming out of China proved censored or false, it grew larger, and the American side entered the story after health officials in the United States shared misinformation about the disease.
