Plot summary
A research team that includes Joanne, Damon, Gary and Phil launches small drones from a plane to interfere with a storm. The group celebrates a good result, then a large storm begins to develop. Charlie, an ex-scientist, is in Harrisford, Oregon to promote his new book with his assistant Nora. As he signs books at a local shop, the storm hits the town. Charlie and Nora narrowly escape, and the storm kills many others. Eric and Ashley are traveling to meet Charlie for their university course. Joanne wants the experiment stopped, but Frank, the program's backer, refuses.
