Plot summary
An American filmmaker and high-level amateur cyclist, Bryan Fogel examines illegal doping in sports. He connects with Grigory Rodchenkov, who directs the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory. Rodchenkov agrees to help with an experiment about how inadequate drug testing is. He is designing a protocol that would let Fogel take banned performance-enhancing substances and still avoid a positive test. Fogel keeps training, the two men become friends, and Rodchenkov travels to the United States to collect urine samples from him.
