Plot summary
After his mother dies and an AARP card arrives, a filmmaker begins a three-year pilgrimage to study aging and whether death can be avoided. He travels the world interviewing centenarians, scientists and health experts. He visits a 94-year-old fitness teacher for a training session and a raw food smoothie. A centenarian marathon runner drinks beer and smokes. An actress tells an anti-aging conference in Las Vegas about the hormones she takes daily. A gerontologist works on tissue-repair strategies intended to prolong lifespans, and a laughter yoga founder prescribes ten minutes of daily laughing for no reason.

- Pierre Jean Buster Martin, who claimed to have been born in 1906, was a 104-year-old marathon runner who kept up a diligent regimen of beer, cigarettes and red meat, had smoked since he was seven, and finished the London Marathon in 2008.

When he was not training for marathons Buster cleaned vans for Pimlico Plumbers in south-east London; on April 12, 2011 he finished work, had a beer and went home, and died that night, at age 104.
