Plot summary
Dib runs dog fights and wants revenge after his hound dies in one of them. He gives Hassan, who scrapes a living from small crimes, a job: take one of the rival's men. Hassan brings along his son Issam, unwilling but sharper about the streets than his father, and Issam dislikes the errand from the start, beginning with the red van. They grab the man and put him in the back. By the time they are on the road he has stopped breathing. Morning is hours away, Dib is waiting for a live delivery, and the two of them have a body to lose.
