Plot summary
The documentary examines the Challenger Wilderness Therapy Program, one of a series of programs for troubled teenagers founded by Steve Cartisano. Parents across America sent their children into the deserts of Utah with the program, which put them through a 63-day, 500-mile hike. The film follows what became of the teenagers who went, and it also features a well-known figure describing the abuse she suffered in similar programs, which have faced allegations of abuse, sexual assault and trauma.
