Plot summary
Nathalie and George, newly married, are on vacation at the Maine island house her family owns. Lance, a childhood friend of Nathalie's, looks after the property. George leaves for a night of fishing with Lance, hoping the two men will get to know each other. Left alone, Nathalie is surprised by Kent, her former boyfriend, who says his girlfriend Evelyn has left him over his drinking. Kent takes a bottle of George's vodka, drinks straight from it and makes a pass at her. She wakes on the sofa to find him dead on the marital bed. Nathalie puts Kent's naked body in the cellar and tries to act as if nothing happened when George returns.
