Plot summary
In 1971, in the town of Reguaws, Kentucky, young Eddie Burber collects admission for his mother's haunted house because he is too young to work inside. He slips in to scare a girl his own age, and she is killed. Eddie runs into a field, and his mother takes him to a cabin in the woods. There they remain for twenty years. Meanwhile, Sigma Phi, a fraternity at Tophill State College, has fallen behind on its dues and risks losing its charter, so the brothers hold a fundraiser party. A stranger turns up at the party, gives the fraternity's secret salute and hands them a key to the abandoned Burber house, suggesting they reopen it as a haunted attraction. Members and their friends start fixing up the property.
