Plot summary
Prague during the reign of Charles IV, with the Charles Bridge and the Astronomical Clock still under construction. Jemmy leaves his village for the capital with his goat and takes work on the bridge, where he meets Katie, who supplies nails for the building site, and falls for her at once. Master Hanuš, hunting for carvers for the clock's statues, notices Jemmy's gift for wood. Matthew, a poor student mocked by his classmates, studies under Hanuš and wins his trust, and having nowhere to sleep he moves into the abandoned Faust House. A carving Jemmy makes of Katie from a support beam sends part of the scaffolding down, and the workers bar him and his goat.

- In summer 2023, 14 years after its premiere, clips of Goat Story spread as memes on Twitter and TikTok over the portrayal of Katie and other women with large breasts and buttocks, and the film's nudity and violence. Director Jan Tománek told The Hollywood Reporter he had not meant to sexualize Katie but to embody the Czech term "krev a mlíko".
- Goat Story was the first Czech-produced feature-length computer-animated film, made with animation by Art And Animation Studio (AAA Studio).
- The film was produced over five years with a budget of less than $3 million, and only about ten animators and 3D graphic designers created it.
- Goat Story grossed $1.3 million in the Czech Republic, becoming the most successful Czech animated film of all time.
