Plot summary
Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, known as GLOW, arrives in 1986 as the first women's professional wrestling show on television. Most of its performers are aspiring actors and models who have never wrestled before. A wrestling trainer teaches them the moves, and the women take on flamboyant personas cast as heroes or villains. The series adds comedy sketches and rap songs performed by the wrestlers. It draws a large audience and tours, with the women becoming recognizable figures. The documentary gathers footage from the broadcasts alongside interviews with some of the women, who recall the auditions, the training and the experience of being part of the promotion.
