Plot summary
Emily Harrington is a professional climber with summits of Everest and other 8,000-meter peaks and a record of winning elite competitions. Her next goal is to cement her reputation in a field where men have long set the standard. She sets her sights on a 24-hour climb of El Capitan in Yosemite. That attempt is framed by two pressures: the ambition to prove herself among the sport's best and the timing of her own life.
