Plot summary
Reese stages races across the city for traceurs and takes a fortune in Internet gambling on the results, paying the runners little. As the season's last event approaches, Ryan decides to bet on the race himself, against Reese's rule, and stakes everything he has. The runners chosen for that final race are taken, gassed and fitted with explosive collars that can be set off by remote. Eight freerunners have an hour to scan their collars at three checkpoints, staying inside the green race zone and no more than three seconds behind the runner ahead, while gangsters and businessmen bet on the outcome. The first to reach the last checkpoint wins a million dollars.
