Plot summary
Fracking the System is an environmental documentary about the fight over oil and gas drilling in Colorado. A fracking mega-site is moved out of a White neighborhood and into a BIPOC neighborhood, and a concerned mother sets out to stop it. The film is built as an investigative exposé: it lays out the harms of fracking, the government's complacency about industrial pollution, and how the oil and gas industry works to undermine democratic elections. It follows the campaign and the climate justice activists behind it.
