Feel the Noise (2007) on Netflix

Plot summary

Rob, an aspiring rapper from Harlem, is the son of an African American mother and a Puerto Rican father. His run-in with local thugs came as he tried to raise money toward a record deal. He flees to Puerto Rico and seeks refuge with the father he never knew. There he and his step-brother Javi are drawn to reggaeton, a style with its spiritual home on the island that blends hip-hop, reggae and Latin beats. With C.C., a dancer, the two of them set out to become reggaeton stars, and the obstacles of love, greed and pride stand in their way.
