Plot summary
Fando sets out with his girlfriend Lis across a wasteland left by an apocalypse. Lis is a paraplegic and cannot walk, and the two of them are searching for Tar, a mythical city that is described as heaven-like, where a person might come to understand eternity and find enlightenment. Along the road they meet odd characters and witness profoundly disturbing events, and the film presents these meetings in a surreal, avant-garde manner that follows the logic of the subconscious rather than a conventional story. The tale was adapted from a 1962 play of the same name and was filmed in high-contrast black and white, with its events left open to the audience's interpretation.
