Plot summary
Ernest P. Worrell works at a golf range in Valdosta, Georgia, collecting balls, and would rather be driving a big rig. His friend Ben tells him that enlisting in the United States Army would mean large vehicles and no combat, so Ernest joins the reserves. A United Nations peacekeeping commander, Pierre Gullet, and a British ambassador then order his unit to Karifistan, to help UN troops defend that Middle Eastern country against an invasion from Arisia and its dictator, Tufuti. In Karifistan, Ernest finds a lost boy, Ben-Ali, and takes charge of him.
