Plot summary
Sweety Chaudhary is a closeted lesbian in Moga, Punjab, where her traditional family expects her to marry. At a wedding she meets a woman named Kuhu, and a year later in Delhi she watches a rehearsal of a play by Sahil Mirza, a playwright whose father, a film producer, thinks he should give up the stage, and she tells him his romance is shallow. A man chases her; Sahil helps her get away and lands at a police station, where he learns the man is her brother Babloo. Sahil chooses to set his next play in Moga and travels there with Chatro, a caterer and amateur actress. Babloo tells the family that Sweety has been visiting Delhi to meet a Muslim boy, so Sahil's arrival is mistaken for that romance.
