Plot summary
A group of twelve Chinese American prisoners held in the United States are promised a pardon, citizenship and $200,000 apiece if they take on a covert job. Lieutenant Colonel Lam receives the assignment from the US military: get into Vietnam and blow up an old American bunker stocked with missiles before the Viet Cong find it. Colonel Yang commands the regular strike team and wants Lam to find his brother Lung, who has stayed in Vietnam since the bunker went up. The prisoners, under Tung Ming-sun, travel as a diversion for Yang's men. Training is brief, then they are dropped into enemy territory, where three Cambodian guerrillas make contact.
