Plot summary
Earth 2100 lays out a worst-case century in which climate change, overpopulation and the misuse of energy resources converge, with scientists, historians and economists offering projections for the years 2015, 2030, 2050, 2085 and 2100. Running through it is the story of Lucy, born in the suburbs of Miami in 2009 and still alive in 2100. In 2015 climate negotiations between the West and India and China break down over the transfer of clean technology, and after chronic gas shortages Lucy's family moves from the suburbs into a Miami apartment. A hurricane levels much of the city and kills thousands, and the family moves to San Diego, where Lucy becomes an EMT and meets Josh, an engineer, at a protest over the price of California's desalinated seawater.

- The story of "Lucy" was made with a limited animation technique using comic book creators Josh Neufeld, Sari Wilson, Joe Infurnari, George O'Connor, Tim Hamilton and Leland Purvis, and it was animated by the visual effects company Guerilla FX and lead animator John Bair.
