Plot summary
Assembled from more than five hundred hours of previously unseen film, the documentary follows Diego Maradona across his career and private life, with Naples chosen as its centerpiece. The idea of documenting him began in 1981 with Jorge Cyterszpiler, his first agent, and two Argentine cameramen recorded hundreds of hours that no film was ever made from. Further material was later found in Buenos Aires, in a trunk at the home of Claudia Villafañe, his former wife. Maradona plays for Argentina and for the Italian club Napoli in the 1980s, and the story takes shape around his arrival there in 1984 after leaving FC Barcelona.
